I wanted the video that how to work the rig. Great
Definitely a technique worth playing with and getting good at! Well done for sorting out the last setup in 15 mins ;-)
That was so cool. Thanks for the post! What is the stand the base you're using to hold the Kessler Turntable ?
It's just a PA monitor speaker stand. Got them on Amazon about 60 bucks
Great overview! You said Second Shooter Pro will connect with Unreal through kOS, is that possible without CineShooter, just a 3 axis SSPro setup?
Yea it is! Everything works the same you just use the SSPro. If you want more axis you can even add another SSPro and control 6 axis.
@@BiolapseStudios oh awesome! I already have a SS and SS+ and kOS Premium, so just adding a single controller would be a lot more affordable than an entire Cineshooter setup. Thanks!
@natelett for sure. Hey also, there is something really awesome happening at Kessler. They have started to retrofit Cinedrive systems with the cineshooter+. I have one, they are still working out some bugs but it is amazing. I have seen a cinedrive pantilt sitting at adorama for 800 bucks. These used to sell new for 15k. The hardware is excellent. It is missing the brains, but they are not needed. For $1400 they will retrofit it to run with the new 5x control module, this is literally the brains of a cineshooter. So about $700 less than a cineshooter plus you can get a cinedrive pan tilt that does the exact same stuff, but with incredible high quality mechanics.
@@BiolapseStudios oh that is fantastic! We have a 6 axis CineDrive setup at my day job, I'll definitely reach out to Kessler and ask about that! I was hoping they'd have a program like that.
it looks good, but I'm wondering what is causing some of the micro jitters around the 10:25 mark?
excellent
absolutely beautiful!
timestamps for spider who does not gaf 0:46 1:04
Trying MP6X today!!!! Cant wait to do hyperstacks.
I'm doing product shots and corporate interviews, but I want room to grow. Cineshooter+ or Axibo PT4?
The axibo is a great system for the price, but it's not quite as polished as the cineshooter. There is a lot to like about axibo, don't get me wrong. If you can budget for the cineshooter though it is a better system in a lot of ways.
I ordered an Axibo. They have my money and don't answer emails or their Discord. I'm beginning to wonder if they are real.
Nice!!!
Do you use OLED Screens for your backgrounds ? Can’t decide between Mini-LED because of its max brightness and OLED for its black levels. Can OLED Screens compete with the studio lights in terms of brightness? Also, if you do use OLED, don’t you get burn in when filming for weeks at a time? Love your content :)
I use the cheapest screens I can find.i think they are just LED. Zero burn in and generally they see very little movement whole being powered for weeks or months
What do you think of the new f/8 pro2be offerings from laowa?
Can you explain your DIY slider in more detail? I have an ST4,3, additional motor, and 80/20 so I'm trying to figure out when I need to add to motorize the 'track'. A linear bearing + ? Is there a racking, or how is it actually driven?
Mine is belt driven. The motor is on the carriage and the belt attaches to either end of the 8020
@@BiolapseStudios - Makes sense, thanks!
The Split Stack feature just blew my mind, thank you so much for this. Super helpful!!!
Glad it was helpful!
You Great Good... !!! I wish you every day of your development. Best Relaxing +thumb up3!
Great video!
The astrhori is fantastic for professional video use where you’d never really use an undiffused led panel
A diffuser isn't going to fix the internal reflections from lights. That's an optics and coating problem.
@@BiolapseStudios definitely, but it fixes the multiple hot spot issue, which to me is more important in a video scenario
Any chance you have used the f/8 18mm? I know it's for a crop sensor, but that f8 sounds good. F13 and f14 can be a challange
@@BiolapseStudios yes, exactly! It’s the model I prefer for Sony. The vignette is super easy to manage and you get a much faster lens
Awesome rig!
Thank you! :)
Really great review, thank you! Going to be filming plants aswell and you answered all my questions i had about the camera.
Awesome 😎
This thing is amazing. Excellent work!!
Hey there…. Im eecc_photo Know im even more tempted Ill look in to the other vida as well Maybe show the display screen as well
Very cool!
Very cool!
Getting very jealous of these custom color units. Haha
If you buy one I'm sure they will do a special color for ya!
oMG, you're awesome! and Otto is too!! thx for the video!
and sara!:D
Looks amazing, does this work with the older CineDrive?
Yes it does with an update
indeed, freakin cool :D great video i will remember to rewatch it many times when i will set up something similar.
quite long wish list :) i agree with all. but heavy duty sliders are used on film sets. prices are 10k+++ so im not sure how many people can really afford it. im sure everyone would like it, just not to pay for it :) i think all the mid/higher range motion control stuff have to be made by the user him self. next level up its a film grade grear. i guess the competition is getting bigger so the prices are going down a bit. but still its like 10x -100x more, also by weight :)
I think my idea of heavy duty may be a bit different. ;) I guess what I meant is something solid. Lots of sliders these days are carbon fiber rod stuff that flexes and bends and wobbles. For a budget, the cineslider is excellent and very well made :)
How to you compare this to Axibo?
Such a powerhouse!
Reminds me of something 🤔
Ordered a PT-4 weeks ago. Emailed you and sent messages on Discord to get a ship date. No response. Thinking of canceling the order with my credit card and ordering this.
So cool, thank you! I have been wanting to buy the Cineshooter for the last few weeks and glad I waited for the + :) Thanks for everything!
I think the title might need changing? 😅 Great video though! 👍
Good catch thank you!
No problem! Keep doing your thing. Blows my mind what you guys are able to do. 👍
Great explanation!
In my lifetime I will never be able to afford the lens
So good, thanks for making this! Was just looking at the Axibo again, as I remember it being the only one with direct UE communication, but this changes quite a lot. Would just the Power Blok, a TV screen, and a static camera work for some basic turntable virtual production stuff right? How to connect the Power Blok to PC & power actually?
Great video!
Awesome Video, thanks so much for sharing :) mega useful!!!
Fantastic job Chris! Thank you so much for helping us architect this software, and making it so easy and reliable.
Can you help me out? I'm looking to build a Z axis. Can you go into more detail a on yours? Thanks!
круто очень!!!
I just got my Axibo and your tutorial was exactly what I needed to get started. Thank you so much for taking the time to share this invaluable info!
man oh man right on the money thank you - links to Kessler would be good more specifically what you used what is custom - watching you so I would not konw about this I'd think super $$$ typical Motion control.
awesome man thank you!
Thanks for the response before! I'm a little confused on the power supply. The one you linked is no longer available so I ordered the one Amazon said is frequently purchased along with the steeper drivers. It's a 24v 18.75a 450 watt unit. In your notes above you say 'reccd at least 24v power supply if you want higher speeds' so it seemed appropriate. Then in the middle of the night I'm thinking, bbut the motors are 12v, right? and I re-watched the video and you say get a 12v power supply. So I'm wondering, did I go wrong with the 24v? Is there something I need to do to keep from burning up the motors or the board? (I see the board inputs says DC9-42v so I guess it can handle it) Thanks again, and beautiful work.
12 is really the minimum in something like this. As steppers speed up thier inductance increases, so higher voltages allow you to get better speeds. There is certainly a limit to how fast an arduino can drive the motors. But 24v is always going to be a good choice.
I've been looking for something like this for awhile!! What are those round connectors you use for output on your driver box?
4 pin aviation connectors! Glad this helped!
Thank you!!!! I’ve been stuck on this for about 2 years!
Hi Chris! I'm James from Sciencelookers. I just found your channel when RUclips suggested a video about Dragonframe you did a couple of years ago. Your ability to track moving plants with Chronos was amazing. Using Dragonframe to record multiple timelapses simultaneously with the same rig was impressive as well. Really shows off how accurately it returns to the same place even after moving a long distance from there. I like how you shot the background separately with the rig and projected it frame by frame to recapture it in camera. I didn't even realise you did this until the reveal at the end.
James I hope you have been well! It has been a long time! :) Thank you!
